GENROKU Shogun Fountain Pen (Lacewood)
The Genroku Shogun (Lacewood) is made with high quality Australian lacewood with a characteristic mottled pattern. Each pen is made to accentuate the unique grain of the wood used, and no two are the same. Treated with a polyurethane finish and buffed to a pristine gloss, this pen elevates any workspace, and the finely crafted Medium nib puts down a robust line with little pressure.
The Genroku Shogun was designed in honor of the fifth Tokugawa Shogun, Tsunayoshi, who governed the Tatebayashi Domain. He is known for putting an end to the violent years of Japan’s middle ages and ushering in the early Edo culture of Genroku (1688-1704) that produced the likes of haiku poet Matsuo Basho, dramatist Chikamatsu Monzaemon and novelist Ihara Saikaku.
